Description
Parallelepiped block belonging to a statue base. It has a votive inscription on the front face, framed by a double groove frame and lath. Aponus is a local divinity, linked to the thermal waters of the Aponense area. Gaius Cluentius Proculus, a citizen of Este, held the city magistracies, aedile and duovirate, and was administrator of finances for two times. Finally, as pontiff, he was particularly concerned with the cult of indigenous deities honoured even in pre-Roman times.
